For those of you that would prefer to explore, Kinloch is close
to some of the most famous castles and stately homes in Scotland,
from Glamis Castle -childhood home of the late Queen Mother, Scone
Palace –the crowning place of Scottish kings and Blair Castle
–the ancient seat of the Dukes of Atholl. Not forgetting
the lesser known properties of the House of Dun –designed
by William Adams and Fasque Castle, home of William Gladstone,
prime minister to Queen Victoria on four occasion!
Other attractions well worth a visit are the gardens of Cambo
House, Drummond Castle, Branklyn and the House of Pitmuies or
if you enjoy a dram there is the world’s smallest scotch
whisky distillery at Edradour or the famous Grouse at Glenturret.
For family attractions spend a day at the award winning visitor
attractions of Discovery Point and on board the Royal Research
Ship Discovery and the working jute mill at Verdant Works; Sensation
-putting fun into science or the Crannog Centre to experience
an early scottish settlement..
Even if you follow tthe Tayside and Fife antique trail or the
“sma glen” route to the book shop at the resored watermill
of Aberfeldy or find yourself shopping at the House of Bruar,
you will be rewarded with glorious scenery and a sense of freedom.
A guided tour of the area by chauffeur driven car can be arranged.
If that all still sounds too energetic why not relax with a dip
in the pool or unwind with a book and a glass of wine or dram
by the fire.

Glamis Castle
The family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne and has been a royal residence since 1372. It was the childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, the birthplace of Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret and the legendary setting of Shakespeare’s play “Macbeth”.
Edradour Distillery
Nestled in a pocket glen, in the hills above Pitlochry in the southern Highlands lies Edradour the smallest distillery in Scotland. Virtually unchanged in the last 150 years, only twelve casks a week are produced making Edradour Single Malt Whisky a rare pleasure for a fortunate few.
Discovery Point
Step aboard the Royal Research Ship Discovery that took Captain Robert Falcon Scott and his brave crew to Antartica in 1901. Award winning exhibition and museum that takes you on an adventure with Scott, Shackleton and the men of The Heroic Age of Exploration.
Scone Palace
The crowning place of Scottish kings, where Macbeth, Robert the Bruce and Charles II were crowned on the Stone of Destiny. The capital of Pictavia in the 5th Century onwards and now the family home of the Earls of Mansfield. Scone is a unique treasury of furniture, paintings, porcelain and other objects d’art and for the adventurous there is a unique “tartan” maze of 2000 beech trees half green, half copper, designed by the world famous designer Adrian Fisher.

Blair Castle
The ancient seat of the Dukes and Earls of Atholl. Steeped in history, from the 13th Century Blair Castle is reputed to have been the last castle besieged in Britain, and is home to the only remaining private army in Europe. Dominating the main road north, today the castle presents a stirring picture of Scottish life from the 16th century to the present day.
