gardens & grounds
The Walled Garden dates back to 1890 and features one
of the tallest stone walls in Perthshire set with the back drop
of Marlee Loch and Sidlaw hills. Even in the depths of winter
one can retreat to the walled garden and find the perfect seat
to reflect.
Our small team of enthusiastic gardeners grow all the herbs and
salads for the table and flowers for the house. Over the last
year there has been a hive of activity as the garden has evolved
from formal parterres to softer herbaceous beds and borders. Over
five hundred and fifty five fragrant roses have been planted and
once settled into their new abode will surely delight the senses.
There is also a delightful millennium figure sculpted by Everard
Meynell, decorated with symbols of mankind’s achievements
over 2000 years.
Through out the year there is much to look forward to from carpets
of snow drops, daffodils and bluebells in the spring to the majestic
summer borders and the vibrant reds and golds of Autumn.
